To unlock the Boss Attack mode, complete either Hero or Dark side story modes. You'll be able to fight each boss from either Hero or Dark side.

Boss Attack Mode
|
|
To unlock the Chao Dark Garden, you must raise a Dark Chao with one of the three Dark characters. Continually feed and train your Dark Chao and it should evolve (creates a tear-shaped "cocoon"). Once it evolves, descending stairs should appear at the main Chao lobby leading to the Dark Garden.

To unlock a 3D version of the classic Green Hill stage (from Sonic the Hedgehog on Genesis), earn all 180 emblems. The new stage will appear on the world map.

To unlock the Chao Hero Garden, you must raise a Hero Chao with one of the three Hero characters. Continually feed and train your Hero Chao and it should evolve (creates a tear-shaped "cocoon"). Once it evolves, ascending stairs should appear at the main Chao lobby leading to the Hero Garden.

In order to unlock the Kart game, in the Hero Side story, complete the Tails driving quest and in Dark Side story, successfully finish the Rouge chase mission.

In order to play the actual last stage of this game, finish both Hero and Dark side story games. Once done, go into story mode and a "Last Stage?" menu selection should appear between Hero and Dark selections.

Everybody wants to play as Super Sonic, and now you can. All you need to do is complete "Last Stage?" in story mode, and you'll unlock both Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

Beside climbing the stairs on Golem's back, you can hit him another way. You can only do this when he has two or less hits remaining. When he uses his head butt of death, stay to the side of his fists so the head misses. Then, get directly under the head. He takes a few seconds to pick it up again, use a bounce attack to hit the battery.

Beating egg golem:

In the Dark storyline, instead of trying to catch him off-guard, keep somersaulting at him. This makes the battle easy.
|
Beating sonic:
|
|
In the Hero storyline, you can defeat Big Foot faster by jumping on the wooden boxes. From here, you can attack him without having to wait until he lands. After he shoots out all the boxes, defeat him the standard way.

Beating big foot:
|
|
As Sonic, if you have the bounce attack, just bounce around Big Foot.
|
Beating big foot 2:
|
|
In the Hero storyline, during both battles with Eggman forget about the lock-on missile, it is too slow. Instead, rapidly attack him with your Vulcan cannon.

Beating eggman:

|
In the Hero storyline, during both Shadow battles you can use the same strategies. Shadow cannot defend against the bounce attack.

Instead of trying to catch him off-guard, keep somersaulting at him. This makes the battle easy.

Beating shadow 2:

In the Hero storyline, only run fast enough so you can see his face. When he starts breathing blue fire, you will have more than enough time to punch the ghost holding the hour glass while he is preoccupied making is wall.

Beating king boom boo:
|
|
King Boom Boo as one attack called the Chomp Attack. Be careful, because he also speeds up when he does it. If you slow down, quickly speed back up or he will speed up and attack. Special karts in kart racing: Complete all missions with any character (any grades) to get their advanced race cart. Special clear Chao: Mate a sapphire Chao (found in sonic advance) and breed it with a sparkly white Chao. the resulting Chao is clear. Chao fact: Be aware that a Chao dies around the age of 4.

Beating king boom boo 2:

If It changes into a dark chao it will have a red ring around it's neck. Note: This doesn't work with hero chao.

Abuse a chao with knuckles:
|
|
Finish all of one character's missions to get an alternate costume in two player mode.
|
Unlocking costumes:
|
|
Successfully complete either side story to see all the scenes from the side of the story that you chose or you can play the Bosses that you fought in a time attack mode. To get both the Hero and the Dark modes you have to complete both sides of the game.
|
Unlock the boss time attack mode:

To get an extra Island level, you must get all the Emblems, including Kart, Timed Boss, and the emblems for all A rating. Once you have them all, which should total 180, the island next to the Green Forest level will have the face of Sonic on it. The new level is a 3D version of the Green Hills Zone, from Sonic The Hedgehog.

You first must gain enough coins in the game to buy a seed. Second, get any Chao to learn the 'Go-Go Dance' in the Chao Kindergarten classroom. Third, give your Chao enough Chao Drives to win every Beginner Chao Race. Finally, after you have completed theses events, give your Chao any seed and it will plant it for you. Note: The Events taken to make this happen have no specific order. This cannot be completed until your Chao is one year old and that weird thing where it looks like a teardrop is forming around your Chao, has happened at least once.

To kill the last boss you must hit the pink swellings on him but when either super sonic or hyper shadow run out of rings you will die so dont forget to swop before you do. Each player has 50 rings when you swap the other one will go and collect rings. How many rings you collect will depend on how long it takes you to kill the swelling. The swelling will get harder to kill as the game progress.

This is a little glitch that will help you get rings. First you go to Chao Island and go to the kindergarten in the lobby. On the left is the black market. Buy an item with your rings (preferrably an expensive item) go to your chao garden and drop it (eggs will not work). Exit and save your chao data. Go back, pick up your item that you left in the garden and take it back to the black market. Sell the item (he will buy all itmd for one fourth of the price so get an expensive item) and after you sell it restart the gamecube. go back to your garden that you left your item in and the item will remain there. Go to the black market and when you plan to buy/sell an item your rings will have the amount after you sold the item. This is a good cheat for raising chao, you can raise rings for buying rare eggs, fruits, seeds, items for wear, ect. This is alot esier than going through levels but you need alot of emblems to get super rare items.

Go to the black market in the kindergarten with a considerable amount of rings saved up. Buy the most expensive item you can at the moment, take it to a garden (prefferably the chao garden because it is close to the portal) save the chao data. Go back to the garden you saved the item in and take it back to the black market and sell it after you recieve the rings reset your system and go back to the garden and repeat. Every time you do this you will have the rings from your sold item but you will also have the item still saved in your garden. Prefferably buy the most expensive item at the time because the black market will buy it back for 1/4 of the original price. This is just a glitch in the game but it is great for raising chao because you can raise money for fruits, seeds, items for wearing, ect.

In any 2P Battle, when someone uses Time Stop on you, push every button except START and wiggle the control stick as much as you can to make the time go faster.

When your chao becomes a hero or dark chao, the type of chao it is level up that chao and the choa is the master of that type now.

Big the Cat Appearances:
|
|
There are several places in SA2 that you can see Big the Cat from the original Sonic Adventure Dreamcast game. Here are a few of them:
|
|
|
1. City Escape: About 3/4 of the way down when you're running away from the truck look on the right sidewalk to see him running away.
|
|
|
2. Radical Highway: After going in one of the rockets look at the blimp to the left and he will be sitting on it.
|
|
|
3. Pumpkin Hill: Go to the area where the train is stuck (it's going back and forth) and he is behind one of the gates waving to you.
|
|
|
4. Cannon's Core: With Rouge, go to the top of the highest pillar in the main room and look up. He's jumping up and down.
|
|
|
5. When you're battling against Shadow with Sonic in the Green Forest area there is a grate. Look down in the grate and you can see Big fishing.
