To unlock Cheat Mode, press L1+R1+L2+R2 at the main menu. This will unlock the cheat menu, which contains the following:

Some tips and tricks:
|
|
1. The game starts with your Sim in a pretty good mood. If you make your Sim study mechanical skills and cooking at the bookcase right after you start the house, you will be in a good enough mood to earn several skill points right away.
|
|
|
2. Mom is also in a pretty good mood when the house starts and you take advantage of this to borrow as many simoleons from her as possible right away. Once she gets in a bad mood, she won’t want to give you any simoleons.
|
|
|
3. Mom is pretty good about keeping her own mood high. If she is in a bad mood, just wait a while.
|
|
|
4. After you cook your first meal successfully, Mom will be able to cook too. Make her cook dinner to free up time for your Sim.
|
|
|
5. You can skip the entire simoleon borrowing process by just selling something of Mom’s to get your budget up to §800. This will let you out of the level later, but Mom will take back the money you owe her.
|
|
|
6. If you make friends with mom in this house, you can use her as a friend when you start needing friends for job promotions in later levels. Since you don’t have to go to work until the second house, you will have plenty of time to socialize with Mom.
|
|
|
7. Since you can stay in Mom’s house for a long time, you can buy skill objects and get all your skills up high before going into later levels where you will be pressed for time due to carpools and parties.
|
|
|
8. If you really don’t know what to do in Mom’s house, just wait. Mom will nag you eventually about your needs and the house goals.
|
|
|
9. Mom has an antique grandfather clock worth a lot of money. You can sell it and buy other objects that you may find more useful of interesting.
|
|
|
10. If you are really greedy, you can put Mom to work building gnomes with the KraftKing woodworking table. Any money you make from this home crafts project you can pocket when you leave!
|
|
|
When the sims trash is full click on the buy mode and click on the trash can and press delete and it will give you your money back so then buy a clean trash can.

No More Trash
|
|
Skip work every other day, to the point where they call you but you will not get fired. While you are home, call over some friend(s) and play pool or a cooperative game.
|
Regain fun and social levels
|
|
Prevent a thief from escaping in Get A Life mode to unlock the Life Of Crime career path in all modes.

|
|
A fast easy way to laydown wallpaper and tile in a big or small room is by pressing and holding L1 or L2 then pressing X this will lay tile or wallpaper in a second instead of using click and drag.

First you use the code freeall then go to your house when your there press start and go to "buy" and buy the most expensive thing...it will be free because of the code then select it in the buy menu and sell it. You will get the money without haveing to do any work.

Go to build mode and select a paint you have on the outside of the house. Go over the entire surface of an outside wall and then press square to sell. Keep pressing square over and over and your money level will go up until you stop. I got up to the max on money.

Play in the Play The Sims mode with two people. Make them kiss loads until one asks if you want a baby. Say no. Repeat again. On the third time say yes and they should be twins.

First go to the main screen press L1,L2,R2,R1 at the same time then type in freeall then start your mode buy 20 hotubs for 5000 it wont take your money that's what freeall enables. after you buy 20 save the game turn of your ps2 turn it back on load your file and sell the 20 hotubs you will now have 99,999 dollars and to get unlimited items whenever tou want just go to the main screen press L1,L2,R2,R1 at the same time and then type in freeall load your name and you can buy whatever you want and don't have to pay for it.

In play the sims mode, throw a party and make sure a lot of guests come in your house. After you greet them all in, push start and go to build mode. sell all the doors leading to the outside. your guests cant get out now. This is also a cheat for infinite social.
